1.I want you to be able to draw the four stages of a butterfly in order and cut and paste the names of the stages under your pictures. 2.Show me that you know what it means to be symmetrical by coloring a picture of a butterfly that is symmertical. 3.Pick your favorite butterfly and insert it in a pictograph.
4.Read The Butterfly Alphabet and locate the letters of the alphabet in the butterfly's wings. 5.Make butterfly's out of pretzels and peanut butter
The Process 1.Listen to the teacher as she reads the book From Caterpillar to
Butterfly. Look at the pictures below: they are in the correct
order for a butterfly's life cycle.

2.Discuss symmetry on a butterfly. Find other types of symmetry and email the answers to answers. Take the butterfly drawing and color a butterfly that is symmertrical. 3.Take a picture of your favorite butterfly that the teacher shows you on the web site butterfly pictures . Insert it onto the pictograph. Discuss the pictograph with the class. Pick out the butterfly that is liked the most, the least, and see if any are equally liked. 4.Sit and listen to the teacher read The Butterfly Alphabet .
5.Look at the recipe on the flip chart on how to make a pretzel butterfly.
Make one on your own when you get back to your table.
